A collaboration between Bazooka Arts and Glasgow Print Studio, part of SMHAF – Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival 2025.
Bazooka Arts and Glasgow Print Studio work with shared values, that the arts should be truly accessible for everyone and firmly believe in the multiple health, personal and social benefits that can be experienced through arts participation.
Brave Spaces was delivered through a combination of outreach and immersive workshops, supporting participants to expand personal and creative comfort zones while exploring new printmaking techniques, environments and opportunities.
The group selected archive screenprints featuring a range of techniques, styles and approaches which connected thematically, and inspired the development of their own artworks.
The project provided valuable respite relief for many of the participants, most of whom have unpaid caring roles or live with challenges relating to long term health conditions.
The project itself was a Brave Space, a place to safely explore and push the boundaries of personal and creative comfort zones, develop confidence and explore new artistic possibilities.
